Who I am

The Wild Becoming is a trading name of Heather Anne Lawson, a sole trader based in Kent, UK. I’m responsible for the personal information you share with me. I’m registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number ZA294499.

If you have any questions about this policy or your information, you can contact me at [email protected].

What information I collect

When you book a call or contact me: your name, email address, phone number and anything you choose to tell me.

When you sign up to my newsletters (Rewilding Pages or my wellness walks newsletter): your name and email address.

When you become a coaching client: the information you share on my intake form and during our sessions, which may include details about your health, your circumstances and your life experiences.

When you pay for a service: card payments are handled securely by Stripe, and I don’t see or store your full card details. If you pay by bank transfer, my business bank will receive your name and the payment details you provide.

When we stay in touch: emails and WhatsApp messages between us.

When you visit my website: cookies, as explained in the cookie notice on this site.

How I use your information - I use your information to:

respond to your enquiries and arrange calls

deliver the coaching, walks and events you’ve booked

take payment and keep financial records

send you my newsletters, if you’ve signed up

support you between sessions by WhatsApp, if you’re a coaching client

I only use your information for these purposes, and I will never sell it.

My lawful reasons for using it are:

Contract: to provide the coaching, walks or events you’ve booked

Consent: to send you newsletters, which you can unsubscribe from at any time using the link in every email

Legal obligation: to keep financial records for tax purposes

Legitimate interests: to reply to your enquiries and run my business sensibly

Health and sensitive information

Some of what you share in coaching, such as information about breast cancer, your health or your emotional wellbeing, is classed as “special category” data under UK law. I only collect and use this with your explicit consent, which I’ll ask for in writing before we begin working together. You can withdraw that consent at any time, although that may mean we can no longer continue coaching.

Everything you share in coaching is treated as confidential. The only exception is if I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, in which case I may need to share information with appropriate services.

Who I share your information with

I use a small number of trusted services to run my business, and they only process your information on my behalf:

GoHighLevel, for my website, bookings, forms and newsletters

Stripe, for card payments

Tide (with its banking partner ClearBank), for my business banking

WhatsApp, for between-session support

Gmail, for email

My accountant, for keeping my accounts

Some of these services store data outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where this happens, they use recognised legal safeguards to protect your information.

I won’t share your information with anyone else unless the law requires me to.

How long I keep it

Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe

Enquiries from people who don’t go on to book: up to 12 months

Coaching notes, intake forms and messages: up to 2 years after our coaching ends, then securely deleted

Financial records: six years, as required for tax purposes

Keeping it safe

I keep your information on password-protected devices and secure systems, and I only keep what I genuinely need.

Your rights

You have the right to:

ask for a copy of the information I hold about you

ask me to correct anything that’s wrong

ask me to delete your information

object to or restrict how I use it

withdraw your consent at any time

To make a request, just email me at [email protected]. I’ll respond within one month.

Making a complaint

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please talk to me first and I’ll do my best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
